Puget Sound Steam Special
The
Union
Pacific #844 and Southern Pacific #4449 steam locomotives double-headed
for the first time ever on a public excursion roundtrip
from Tacoma to Everett, Washington.
This steam special was operated by the Union Pacific Railroad
and
BNSF Railway on behalf of the Barriger Library of the University of
Missouri at St. Louis, and the Oregon Rail Heritage Foundation.
We
would like to thank the Union Pacific Railroad, BNSF Railway, UP Steam,
Barriger Library, TicketsWest, and all the volunteers and passengers
who made this an unforgettable trip!
|
 A
video documentary was produced of 4449's run to Seattle and beyond with
Union Pacific 844 on a fundraising trip that benefited ORHF. While it
primarily shows the running of the train, it includes scenes at the
Roundhouse, some interviews and bits about ORHF's mission.
Marcam Productions
is contributing a portion of their profits to the ORHF, and we thank
them for covering this rare double-heading steam trip!
