Can I see the locomotives? Yes you can! Go to the new Oregon Rail Heritage Center (ORHC) Thursdays – Sundays, 1pm-5pm. You can also see them when they’re chugging down the rails, or attending a special event or excursion such as the Holiday Express.
How do I get there? Although the address for the Oregon Rail Heritage Center is 2250 SE Water Avenue, Portland, OR 97214, the street is under construction. Currently the best way to get to ORHC is by the Eastside Streetcar or by driving to SE Grand and SE Caruthers. You can park in our paved parking lot under the new 99E Viaduct.
Do you have Handicapped Parking? Yes. We have two spots across light rail from the building under the overpass.
How much is Admission? Currently the Oregon Rail Heritage Center does not charge admission. However, we welcome your donations. Your support will help us grow to develop new programs and offer more to see and do!
How else can I support to your cause? ORHF is a registered 501(c)3 non-profit organization, allowing you to deduct your donation from taxes. Donations to ORHF, whether it be funds or supplies, are much appreciated and go toward the efforts of building a permanent, publicly-accessible facility for the City of Portland’s locomotives and other historic railroad pieces. Donations may be made online or by check payable to “ORHF” and mailed to our P.O. Box address.
